Economy Rules

How gold enters, moves through and leaves Forever.

  • FactDev (Dev confirmed): Direct statement from a Blizzard developer, including interviews hosted by reputable third parties.

    No WoW Token

Forever will not have the WoW Token, so gold cannot be bought with real money through the game.

Note: Stated by Blizzard developers in an interview published by Wowhead.

    ForeverEcon analysis

Removing the Token eliminates one mechanism for exchanging real money for in-game gold. The effect on early price levels will depend on gold generation, supply, demand and player behavior.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

  • FactDev (Dev confirmed): Direct statement from a Blizzard developer, including interviews hosted by reputable third parties.

    No paid character boosts

Forever will not sell character boosts.

Note: Same developer interview as the WoW Token statement.

    ForeverEcon analysis

Every character levels through play, so leveling-related goods — food, potions, bags, armor kits — keep a steady buyer base rather than being skipped by boosted characters.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

    Four rulesets

Normal, PvP, Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP rulesets at launch; Hardcore arrives after launch. Horde and Alliance remain separate and cannot group.

    ForeverEcon analysis

If auction houses are separated by ruleset or faction, each forms its own market with its own prices. ForeverEcon keeps market data separable by region, realm and ruleset until the structure is known.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

    Reagent Economy removes class reagents

The Legacy talent Reagent Economy removes reagent requirements from class abilities.

    ForeverEcon analysis

Characters that take the talent stop consuming class reagents, which removes that demand for them. The size of the effect depends on how widely the talent is adopted.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

  • FactCommunity (Community report): Reported by players or community sources, and not independently verified.

Beta progress does not carry over

Reported that characters and gold from the beta will not transfer to launch.

Note: Attributed to a Blizzard interview by a third-party guide; we have not found it in a Blizzard source or developer quote.

Auction House

Where trade happens — and what isn't known yet.

Professions

Forever-specific profession changes.

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

    Tanning Rack gates advanced Leatherworking

A Tanning Rack campsite object is required for more advanced Leatherworking recipes.

    ForeverEcon analysis

Advanced Leatherworking crafts depend on access to a Tanning Rack. If racks are scarce early, that access — not materials — could limit how much advanced leather gear is made. Variable to watch: how easily the rack is learned and placed.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

Gathering

Supply-side changes to herbs, ore and leather.

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

    Bountiful Harvest raises gathering yield

The Legacy talent Bountiful Harvest increases materials gathered from Mining, Herbalism or Skinning.

    ForeverEcon analysis

All else equal, increased gathering yield adds supply pressure. Actual prices will depend on demand and how widely the talent is adopted.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

Crafting

Recipes and crafted goods.

  • FactDatamined (Datamined): Found in game or client data, but not officially announced.

839 new recipes are readable in the beta client

Diffing the Forever beta client's data tables against Classic Era finds 839 crafting recipes that don't exist in Classic Era, led by Leatherworking (245), Blacksmithing (177), Tailoring (164).

Note: Datamined by ForeverEcon from build 1.60.1.70755 via wago.tools. Blizzard's own figure is “600+”.

    ForeverEcon analysis

This is client data, not an announcement: recipes can be added, changed or cut before launch, and the count depends on how you count. It does show which professions are receiving the most new crafts.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

    600+ new recipes

Blizzard has announced more than 600 new recipes across professions and level ranges.

    ForeverEcon analysis

New recipes can add demand for existing materials, most where they create new material sinks. Which materials are affected depends on recipes that haven't been published.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

  • Open questionUnknown (Unknown): An economically relevant question whose answer has not yet been established.

Which professions get the new recipes

Blizzard has not published a per-profession breakdown or a list of the 600+ new recipes.

Note: Not addressed in Blizzard's Forever panel recaps (linked).

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

Crafted food grants XP and stats

Crafted food is adjusted to grant a small experience bonus as well as stat boosts.

    ForeverEcon analysis

An XP bonus gives crafted food a leveling use. If players value it, demand for food — and its raw fish and meat — could rise during leveling-heavy periods. Variable to watch: the size of the bonus, which is unknown.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

Camping

Campsites, campfires and profession objects.

Blueprints

Forever's boss-dropped recipes.

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

    Blueprints drop from dungeon bosses

Advanced Blueprint recipes drop from dungeon bosses.

    ForeverEcon analysis

Boss-dropped recipes tie crafting access to dungeon runs, and each recipe a Blueprint teaches creates demand for its input materials. Variables to watch: drop rates and which recipes are taught.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

  • Open questionUnknown (Unknown): An economically relevant question whose answer has not yet been established.

Which Blueprints exist, and who drops them

The client names 26 Blueprints, but which boss drops which isn't in the data yet.

Note: Creature loot has never been part of the client's data tables in any WoW version, so which boss drops which Blueprint can't be datamined — it becomes known through play. We can read Forever's recipes and items from the client; their drop sources aren't there.

Launch

Dates that move markets.

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

    Global launch: November 4, 2026

WoW Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST.

    ForeverEcon analysis

ForeverEcon's live market tracking starts here. Launch markets typically begin thin — few listings per item — so early prices can swing widely until supply builds.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

  • FactOfficial (Official source): Directly published on a Blizzard-owned source.

    New raids unlock December 9

Forever's new raids — Hyjal Summit (20-player) and Barrow Deeps (10-player) — unlock on December 9.

    ForeverEcon analysis

Raiding consumes flasks, potions, elixirs and food, so a raid opening adds a demand source for those consumables and their reagents. Variables to watch: how many players raid, which consumables the encounters reward, and reagent supply.

Our interpretation — not confirmed game behavior.

Market Intelligence

What ForeverEcon will measure from launch

  • Median and minimum prices
  • 24h and 7-day change
  • Traded volume and listings
  • Crafting cost vs. market value
  • Buy / sell / craft / farm signals
  • Category heat across materials

How each number is calculated is documented on the Methodology page.
